🚨 Beach Safety Tips
Whether you’re swimming, sunbathing, or just strolling by the water, safety always comes first:
- Always swim between the flags where lifeguards are present.
- Check the flag system before entering the water:
🟢 Green: Safe to swim
🟡 Yellow: Swim with caution
🔴 Red: Swimming prohibited
Never swim alone, especially in remote areas or at night.
Obey lifeguards’ instructions—they are trained to protect you.
🌊 Drowning Prevention
Small decisions save lives:
- Avoid alcohol before swimming.
- Don’t overestimate your swimming abilities.
- Watch out for rip currents: If caught, swim parallel to the shore, not against the current.
- Keep an eye on children—always within arm’s reach.
- Use lifejackets for non-swimmers or during water activities like boating or paddleboarding.
☀️ Sun & Heat Safety
Stay protected while enjoying the sun:
- Apply sunscreen (SPF 30+) every two hours.
- Wear a hat, sunglasses, and UV-protective clothing.
- Hydrate—drink plenty of water, especially on hot days.
- Take breaks in the shade during peak hours (11 AM – 4 PM).
- Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, nausea, or heavy sweating.
