WORKSHOP – INTERREG IPA SOUTH ADRIATIC BLUE FLAG

On May 22nd in Tirana: BLUE FLAG Program Workshop

Representatives from Albania, Italy, and Montenegro gathered to discuss effective beach management, improvement of environmental standards, and the enhancement of public–private cooperation within the framework of the Blue Flag Program.

INCOMING MISSION – INTERREG IPA SOUTH ADRIATIC BLUE FLAG

On May 21st, we carried out an official visit to Green Coast beach as part of the Interreg IPA BLUEFLAG – South Adriatic Cooperation project.

The visit was hosted by Mr. Igli Beti, representative of Green Coast, and attended by the Deputy Mayor of Himara Municipality, Mr. Pervin Gjikuria, and the President of the Albanian Diving Federation, Mr. Igli Pustina. Discussions focused on sustainable beach management and compliance with the international Blue Flag standards.

Joining this mission alongside the Albanian Federation of Beach Lifeguards and Water Rescue were the international project partners:
• Municipality of Ugento (Italy)
• Tourism and Culture Foundation of Molise (Italy)
• Ulcinj Tourist Organization (Montenegro)
• Municipality of Lezha (Albania)

Together, we are strengthening cooperation for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable coastline.

Blue Flag Workshop – Raising Coastal Tourism Standards in Albania

The Albanian Lifeguards and Water Rescue Federation, as the National Operator of the Blue Flag Programme in Albania, is pleased to invite all beachfront hotels, tourism operators, and coastal municipalities to participate in the upcoming Blue Flag Workshop.

This event is organized within the framework of the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Project co-funded by the European Union, and it aims to:

  • Enhance cooperation between private and public institutions;
  • Support tourism stakeholders in adopting international environmental and safety standards;
  • Share practical guidance on how to apply and qualify for the Blue Flag certification;
  • Present successful case studies and tools for improving beach management.
